The aim of teaching and learning in Modern Foreign Languages at KS2 will be practical communication through written and spoken language.
Understanding of Language - Pupils will work towards building words and phrases into sentences, have opportunities to engage in conversations and read and understand written material including from authentic sources.
Fluency and Confidence - Increased fluency will be developed by building up and revisiting a bank of vocabulary to express opinions and ask questions.
Curiosity of Language and Cultures - A positive attitude towards learning Modern Foreign Languages and an appreciation of learning about cultures different to our own is fostered from the Early Years Foundation Stage and throughout KS1.
