Diamond Class

Welcome to our class! Diamond Class is our Year 5 and 6 class, and is taught by Miss Self and Mrs Beckett. The class is supported by Mrs De Banks and Mrs Polley.

Our PE days are Tuesday and Friday.

September 2026

We have settled into Diamond Class beautifully since returning from the summer break. Everyone has been keen to get started with our new learning and have shown a fantastic attitude towards school. In English, we have focused heavily on grammar during our first few lessons, building the skills and knowledge we will need for the abundance of creative writing we hope to produce throughout the year. In Maths, we have successfully completed our work on place value and are now moving on to calculations. Science has given us the opportunity to work together in unity as we investigated the properties of different materials and used our findings to draw conclusions. In Geography, we have been learning about coastal features, and we particularly enjoyed remembering the UK coastal areas we have visited and sharing our memories with one another. Our PE lessons have also got off to a fantastic start, with both netball and football proving popular. We were also excited to take part in the dodgeball tournament at Hadleigh High School. We are incredibly proud of the success Diamond Class have already achieved. We have shown such maturity, independence and responsibility towards our learning and our important role as the oldest children in the school. What a fantastic start to the year!
